Comics/Narrative Works

Double A

"Double A" is a more wordy and informational comic about identities and the struggles being an Aromantic/Asexual (Aro/Ace) individual.

Being Aro/Ace should be more normalized in todays society and many people are not aware of how emotionally distressing and even confusing it can be to be Aro/Ace.

I talk breifly about my high school experience and how I had serious confusion about my gender due to being Aro/Ace. During my 4 years in high school, being LGBTQA+ was becoming more accepted and the battle for Transgender rights was really ramping up. I assumed I was a transgender male since I didn't like or feel attracted to women, but after identifying as male for a couple years, I identified as Agender. However, I still felt isolated because I had zero romantic or sexual attraction to anyone.

This was also inspired by JaidenAnimations's videos on youtube where they came out as Aro/Ace after years of self-exploration and trying to understand themselves. I really connected to their story, but they recieved a ton of negative criticism over this. It made me realize that being Aro/Ace is not as normalized as being gay, trans, bi, pan, etc.

Liberation

WARNINGS: Murder, Assault, Implied Torture, and Blood.

"Liberation" is a comic about how two of my original characters first met in a cruel fantasy world. This comic was created as an assignment for a comics class I took at MassArt one semester.

Akuhei (nicknamed Aku) was only 14 when he came home to a gruesome scene. His younger bother was dead on the floor in a pool of his own blood. The assailant was still on the premises and kidnapped Aku. He brought him to an underground cult headquarters where Aku woke up in a laboratory on a metal surgical table. He was tested on constantly until alarms started blaring. An organization created to take down cults like these was invading to rescue any captives. In comes Azure, a young man at 16, who is helping the organization gets Aku to safety.

This is a 12 page wordless comic. The only words are sound effects as well as one sentence in the last panel.

WARNINGS: Spiders

"The Red Spot" is a comic created for a comic class I took one semester at MassArt. This is a comic interpretation of an urban legend of the same name.

The urban legend is about the myth that spiders lay their eggs a bite they've caused. This is been proven false, but it led to this urban legend. A woman was vacationing in a trapical location when she got bit by a spider. She thought none of it until the bump quickly swelled up and became very red over the course of a few days. The bumb began to bother the woman so she called the doctor to get the bump excised. On the day of her appointment, the doctor cut open the bump to release a huge group of thousands of baby spiders. The doctor passed out from shock while the shock made the woman go crazy.

This is an 8 page wordless comic.

A-CAT-INATION

"A-CAT-INATION" is a one page wordless comic created using random plot events. This comic was created as an assignment for a comic class I took one semester at MassArt. In the class we came up with seemingly random plot points and had to create a one page comic story out of it.

The result was: A princess finds a mysterious potion that she decides to drink one day. Magically, this potion transforms the princess into a cat or kitten. After this sudden transformation, the King knocks on the door. When he comes in, he sees the cat, and it turns out he is deathly allergic. The King goes into anaphylactic shock and dies in front of the princess cat. However, the princess cat planned out this whole situation in order to take the throne and become queen. A Cat Queen.

This assignment was fun to do and helped me learn how to condense all the important information into the one page limit.
